He was release coordinator for, and the primary contributor to, Perl 5.004. Chip is executive director of The Perl Institute, a nonprofit corporation devoted to helping people develop and use Perl. Chip's projects include support services for Perl users through PerlSupport.com and Perl training in cooperation with Stonehenge Consulting. Topaz: Perl for the 22nd Century Chip Salzenberg, one of the core developers of Perl, talks about Topaz, a new effort to completely rewrite the internals of Perl in C++.
