Advanced Perl Programming
Tom Christiansen's Three-Day, Hands-on Lecture/Lab -This upper level course is for experienced Perl programmers that want the more advanced, wizardly bits particularly in the more esoteric areas of modules and advanced regular expressions. Students will also learn things that are new in Perl 5.6, advanced namespace management, advanced object-oriented issues, and optimizing efficiency by extending Perl with C.

Beginning Perl Programming

Tom Christiansen's Four-Day, Hands-on Lecture/Lab -This course provides a thorough introduction to the fundamental concepts, syntax, and features of Perl programming. The student will gain the necessary skills to start programming in Perl and build upon to learn more advanced features of Perl. The hands-on course allows students to write Perl programs starting on the first day with the assistance of an expert Perl programmer.

This course is designed for students with some background in programming, but not necessarily a university-style C programming background.

CGI Programming in Perl
Tom Christiansen's Three-Day, Hands-on Lecture/Lab -This course is for existing Perl programmers who want to learn CGI scripting techniques and web automation using Perl. Programmers should have a background in Perl programming plus a basic understanding of HTML tags and web browser operation. Previous CGI experience is not required, nor do you need to be a web administrator.

CGI Scripting classes at WestLake Internet Training

Tom Christiansen's Three-Day, Hands-on Lecture/Lab -This intermediate course is for those who wish to hone their existing Perl programming skills, particularly in the areas of packages, libraries, and modules; references and data structures; classes and objects; exception handling; and programming in Perl with style.

Learning CGI with Perl
This course covers the basics of CGI programming with Perl on UNIX platforms. The material also generally applies to Win32-based Perl. This class can be taught separately or as an %22add-on%22 to the Learning Perl course.

Learning Perl
Designed by Randal Schwartz, and based on his best-selling O'Reilly book of the same name, this course is a solid introduction to the fundamentals of programming in Perl. Students should have some programming experience; however, prior experience with Perl is not required. Experience as a UNIX user and/or as a C programmer is also helpful but not required.
